I relocated to Portland in 2008 by way of San Francisco, and worked at Mind Matters PC, a child and adolescent group practice in Beaverton. Prior I did private practice in San Francisco, focusing on transitional ages and student mental health and became interested in helping people work through barriers to success in school and work. This often led to finding creative solutions to finding passion, direction, and working with strengths to overcome barriers. I have always been interested in how different cultural elements, developmental themes, relationships and family systems affect treatment.
I worked as the interim director at the
UCSF Medical School Well Being Program and at the University of San Francisco in
the student counseling office, and at Seneca Center at a Day Treatment school with kids and teenagers with mental health and emotional problems.
I completed undergrad at Northwestern University (honors in psychology), went to medical school at the University of Maryland and did residency training at University of Washington (general psychiatry) and at New York University (child and adolescent). I am a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Oregon Medical Association.
